There are two limited edition army boxes coming for Star Wars: Legion which is seeing a new heyday after the new edition! A few months ago, generic starters dropped for all four main factions in the Empire, Separatist Alliance, Republic, and Rebel Alliance – but now we get to focus in on one very well known battle.

These army boxes include brand new sculpts of old units allowing you to get them at a better price for a limited time. They also come with a special alternate model for Leia and Darth Vader respectively – they use their same old Commander rules though, so no need to keep track of more cards.
The names of the boxes along with their contents line up with their faction’s respective battleforce, giving you some extra rules and command cards if you follow their build structure. Luckily, these boxes also come out to 600 points as well – making them perfect for new players or trying out a new army. I put together some example lists that we’ll go over now!
Echo Base Defenders

The defenders of Echo Base live and die by holding their position and taking maximum advantage of cover. With the Prepared Positions ability on both the Rebel Veterans and Mark 2 Blaster Cannons, they benefit highly from being able to secure their spot on the board and boost their cover saves by being Dug In. That lets them make saves like an Imperial Stormtrooper while still being able to shoot straight!

While the Veterans and Mark II hold their positions, the Tauntaun Riders can stride forth to skirmish on any mid-field objectives – running down any enemies they see. Leia is an amazing support piece, handing out tokens to her allies while R2-D3 and C3PO cause issues behind enemy lines and finish their secret objectives.

Blizzard Force

Prepare your troops for a surface attack! The Imperial force is built perfectly for assaulting the Rebel positions – the Imperial March upgrade allows the Stormtrooper Heavy Response Units and Snowtroopers to gain extra speed for a turn to get their weapons in range. The Flametroopers use the Blast and Spray keywords to eliminate the Rebel cover and load up the attack dice.

Darth Vader needs no introduction. With Saber Throw he can be a ranged threat while causing even more Suppression with Fear. Point him in a direction and Rebels will fall in droves! Probe Droids are a unit that is brand new to Legion – supporting the troops with Observe tokens and providing a surprising amount of firepower at short range.
