Fallout Factions: Nuka World Campaign

The Banish Zone has Fallout Fridays on the first and third Friday of every month. On the first Fallout Friday, we’ll be playing casual games, demoing for new players, and having a more casual blast with Fallout. On the third Friday of every month, Fallout Friday will be focused on competitive play. These will be official Battle For Nuka World events!

The Battle For Nuka World

The initial setting of Fallout Factions is Nuka World, the cola-themed amusement park featured in Fallout 4. Nuka World is broken up into smaller parks, each with its own theme. In Fallout Factions, each of these parks is its own setting for your battles, and has its own lists of loot, special events, and rules!

At the beginning of a campaign, each player creates their own crew and chooses a park to be their home turf. During the course of battling other crews, your crew will gain and lose influence in each of these parks. Where you play affects which scenarios are available as well.

We’ll be tracking each crew’s influence in each park after each Battle For Nuka World event, so you can see where your crew stands!

Not only does your chosen crew gain influence in each park, but your crew will gain experience that you can spend to upgrade your members and recruit new fighters. Each crew’s rules include questlines that you’ll work toward completing as you play. Each questline has a Tier, from 1 to 3. When you complete all the quests in each Tier, you can advance to the next level.

When a crew finishes their quest at Tier 3, they retire. This crew has achieved their aims, and disbands. We’ll be keeping track of the history of crews in Nuka World, so while your crew may be gone, they won’t be forgotten! If you’d like to start a new crew of the same faction, you’ll be able to recruit a select number of your upgraded crew, or you can start fresh with a new crew in any faction you choose!

This cycle means that we’ll be able to battle it out in Nuka World without hard resets, creating barriers for new players to join, or schedules impeding progress. Factions has rules for balancing games when one crew has more experience than another, so you can work on your crew at your pace!

In the beginning of the Battle For Nuka World, we are keeping all games that are part of the campaign restricted to Fallout Friday: Battle For Nuka World events. You can still play Factions without any restrictions at any time, using the Skirmish rules found in the core rules, but those games won’t count toward your Battle For Nuka World progress in quests, acquiring items and caps, and leveling up your crew. We’ll reevaluate this in the future.
