Two brothers. One Warhammer 40K Faction. Two 1,000 point lists. This is a BroHammer, a look at two different ways to get a faction onto the table!

Nigel and Shawn are tackling Tau this week, using the upcoming Tau BattleForce box as a starting point.

Starting Points

Both lists are using the Tau Retaliation Cadre Battleforce box as the starting point for their lists. Each Battleforce box contains a Tau Commander in either a Coldstar or Enforcer battlesuit, a Broadside battlesuit, a Ghostkeel battlesuit, and a Riptide battlesuit. Tau are quite unique with their massive battlesuits and extreme firepower, so this box is a great starting point for any Tau force.

But, as usual, both brothers have gone in very different directions. Nigel has planned out an efficient list, with minimal purchasing and a strong core of units. Shawn has gone a bit wild, and gone for a list that’s got a lot of character.

Nigel’s Tau 1k List

Final Thoughts

Both lists get to the table for under $600. Nigel’s list is focused on battlesuits and traditional Tau long-range firepower, while Shawn went for a Kroot pack to get up close and personal, with some battlesuits to take larger threats. That’s the great thing about the upcoming Battleforce boxes, you can build your army in any manner of ways from that starting point!
