Devote Yourself! World Eater and Emperor’s Children Battleforces

Soon we’re going to see the release of four surprise Battleforce boxes for Warhammer 40k – each covering the Cult Legions of World Eaters, Thousand Sons, Emperor’s Children and Death Guard. These sets are perfect for new players or starting a new army as an existing player – today we’ll be going over the Lords of Excess from the Emperor’s Children and the Khorne Daemonkin of the World Eaters.

World Eaters: Khorne Daemonkin

The Khorne Daemonkin Battleforce wants to be in the detachment that it share it’s name with. Every Cult Legion has one detachment to take their respective flavor of daemons mixed in with their heretical Astartes – and the Daemonkin are a decently powerful showing of that.

They rely on destroying enemy units to create Blood Tithe points, which then can be spent on special abilities affecting either the units with the Blood Legions keyword, World Eaters keyword, or both.

From the Boxes

Lord Invocatus (110pts): Bladed horn, Bolt pistol, Coward’s Bane, Warlord
Master of Executions (90pts): Blade of Endless Bloodshed, Axe of dismemberment, Bolt pistol

10x Bloodletters (90pts)
10x Bloodletters (90pts)
10x Khorne Berzerkers (180pts)

6x Bloodcrushers (220pts)
Chaos Land Raider (220pts): Armoured tracks, 2x Soulshatter lascannon, Twin heavy bolter

This list shown above is exactly 1000pts – perfect for learning games or small tournaments! It uses every model out of the battleforce box along with a Chaos Land Raider – just to bulk up the armored force. It plays simple as well, run in and take skulls! The Land Raider is also perfect to carry the Master of Executions and Berzerkers as a bomb to drop wherever they are needed.

Emperor’s Children: Lords of Excess

The Lord of Excess box doesn’t specifically call out any detachment – so I felt the Coterie of the Conceited was a good fit. It works somewhat like the Daemonkin, as destroying units buffs your army over time.

From the Boxes

Daemon Prince of Slaanesh with Wings (215pts): Warlord, Hellforged weapons, Infernal cannon
Lord Kakophonist (70pts): Screamer pistol, Power sword

5x Infractors (85pts)
5x Infractors (85pts)
5x Tormentors (85pts)
5x Tormentors (85pts)

6x Noise Marines (145pts)
6x Noise Marines (145pts)
Chaos Rhino (80pts): Armoured tracks, Combi-bolter

This list is 995pts with all the contents of the battleforce box alongside a Chaos Rhino. The Rhino is an always needed unit to go into Emperor’s Children armies – so getting it from the start will help in the long run. It’ll carry the Lord Kakophonist with his Noise Marine retinue. You’ll find these army to be extremely fast and hard-hitting, while being somewhat of a glass cannon.

Looking to get any of the Chaos battleforces? They’re up for preorder now! Releasing on February 14th
