Warhammer 40k RTT Recap – February 21st

On Saturday, February 21st, TBZ hosted it’s largest Warhammer tournament to date! 22 players showed to battle on the fields of the 41st Millennium. Below are the breakdown charts – but we had a decently even spread across the factions! Notably there were no Drukhari, Leagues of Votann, Aeldari, Dark Angels, Adeptus Mechanicus, or Genestealer Cults present.

The Top Three

The Blood Angels secure third place with the Liberator Assault Group backed up by double Vindicators. This rarely seen Space Marine vehicle (up until now!) finds it’s place on the back lines of the battlefield while the Sanguinary Guard, Death Company, and Jump Intercessors rush forward to benefit from the charge bonuses of the detachment. This list defeated two Adeptus Custodes armies and a Death Guard force – taking third through a combined VP total of 254 and opponent win percentage of 44.3.

The Thousand Sons turn second place into dust with the Rubricae Phalanx – taking three full-sized Scarab Occult squads each with an attached Sorcerer. These get massive benefits in the Phalanx detachment and their leaders including Lethal Hits from the Sorcerer, +1 to Hit from Lord of the Rubricae and one can Infiltrate from Risen Rubricae. These Terminators make up the very powerful core of the list – providing almost 100 wounds on their own not even counting the rest of the list. This army defeated World Eaters, Adepta Sororitas, and Necrons – taking second through a combined VP total of 296 and an opponent win percentage of 44.3.

The Triptide returns to evenly distribute first place among all the followers of the Greater Good! Using the Experimental Prototype Cadre to extend the range of all weapons along with the buffing strategems, this list annihilated all others across the field. Pathfinders and Kroot screen while Piranhas and Ghostkeels harrass – creating an amazing balanced list. The T’au took first place with a combined VP total of 275 and opponent win percentage of 55.6.
