On April 12, TBZ hosted a 1,000 point Warhammer 40K casual-competitive event. Here is a recap of our event, and some interesting lessons learned.

Our TBZ 40k April Blitz was attended by 22 players. The split between Imperium, Chaos, and Xenos factions was surprisingly close. We saw a good variety of armies represented. The three most popular were Tyranids, Astra Militarium, and a three-way tie for third between Custodes, Emperor’s Children, and Orks.

What Did We Learn?
Chaos Daemons? Who had that on the cards in the year of our God Emperor 2025? One of my favorite things about Warhammer is that if you know your army, what it does, and how to play it, you can go very far. Scott obviously knows his Daemons, and that’s awesome.
We had a fantastically diverse collection of factions represented. And, to have a nearly even spread across Imperium, Chaos, and Xenos factions was also a lovely surprise. Overall, it was great to see so many different armies on the table.

On their preorder weekend, Emperor’s Children had a great showing. Overall, 1st and 4th is pretty good, and shows the potential that’s in Chaos this edition. There were 4 each of Imperium and Xenos, with the only doubled faction in the Top 10 being the Tyranids.
